Attractions Along The Alpine Way

Whilst The Alpine Way is the gateway to Thredbo it must not be missed as a tourist destination. If your heading down from the mountain why not stop in at the Wild Brumby Schnapps Distillery or enjoy coffee and scones at Crackenback Cottage whilst the kids explore the maze. If your feeling like a day off the mountain then Thredbo Valley Horseriding offer trail rides for even the most unexperienced from 1hr to full day trecks.

Wild Brumby Distillery

The perfect gift to take away a great memory of the Snowy Mountains. Locally grown and distilled on site this is one of the few Schnapps Distilleries in Australia serving a mouthwatering aray of schnapps and vodkas for the Snowy Region. The Wild Brumby is the perfect location for a cup of coffee or why not try their delectable lunch menu and the kids have plenty of room to run around in the expansive yard or check out the many art sculptures and instillations from local artists and master distiller Brad Spalding.

The Wild Brumby Distillery is located 11km from Jindabyne on your left. You will see the wrought iron gates with horses on top.

Thredbo Valley Horse Riding

You can't beat a horse ride through the Alpine Way and the Snowies. Your local experts will ensure you are safe and see some fantastic sights along the way. Private lessons right through to overnight treks can be arranged and leaders always ensure your in a small group or with plenty of tour leaders. Murray 1 Power Station

Located 10kms east of Khancoban  Murray One Power station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme. There are 10 turbines at Murray 1, each capable of producing enough electricity to supply over 95,000 houses. Next to the power station is the Murray 1 Visitors Centre. This centre offers an exciting interactive experience with a wide range of displays, "hands on"models and exhibits. There are BBQ and picnic areas by the water that are open to the public. Light refreshments are available in the Cafe.
Safety is important at all times while visiting the Scheme. 

Cost: Entry, activities and picnic areas are free of charge.

Skitube - Alpine Railway

Skitube is a convenient and innovative train ride from Bullocks Flat through the Ramshead range and into the National Park then onto Perisher Valley and then another 7 minutes to Blue Cow. The distance is 8.5km, 6.3km is underground making it one of the longest underground train tunnels in Australia and travelling as deep as 550m underground so it's a great experience in itself. There's also FREE day and overnight parking at Bullocks Flat. Travel between Perisher and Blue Cow is free with any valid Lift Ticket.

Day Tripping

Because the Bullocks Flat Terminal is well below the normal snow line and only 20km from Jindabyne, it's an easy drive. Frequent train services run to Perisher Valley and on to Blue Cow. A Skitube pass includes the Kosciuszko National Park entry fee and savings can be made by buying a combined Train and Lift Ticket.
On Snow Stays

There is limited overnight parking at Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes so on snow stayers can leave the car in the overnight security patrolled carpark at the Bullocks Flat Skitube Terminal free of charge and travel to Perisher via Skitube.

Skitube Terminal Facilities

Bullocks Flat Skitube terminal is a complete source of information and services. You'll find a Lift Ticket Office, Snowsports School Office, Information Desk, Kiosk, Souvenir Shop as well as Snowsports Hire and Ski & Board Service Centre all with friendly staff on hand to answer your questions.

One of the largest ski and board rentals around will quickly equip you, your family or group, while the Ski & Board Service Centre next door provides overnight workshop facilities - just drop off your gear on the way down and pick it up next morning ready to go.

Note: For passenger safety the terminal doors at Bullocks Flat will close one minute prior to advertised train departure time.

Flexi Pass:
The Jindabyne Flexi Pass offers guests staying in Jindabyne or along the Alpine Way the option to ski any 3 and a half days out of 5 and a half. Tickets are valid midweek Monday through to Friday (half day is the day proir to ticket commencement date and upgrades to 4 or 5 day passes are available. All tickets must be used proir to close of lifts on the first Friday from when the ticket commenced.

Kids Ski Free:
Thredbo offers free skiing and boarding for children 14yrs and under when booking Kids Stay Free accommodation in either Jindabyne or Thredbo.  Conditions stipulate that when an adult buys a Lift Only or Lift & Lesson ticket, one child will recieve the same free. Maximum one child per adult and Thredbo Land upgrades are available. (Contact your reservations consultant for details) Kids Stay & Ski Free deals are valid between 11 - 24 June & 5 September - 3 October

Super Saver Weeks:
Super Saver Weeks are discounted passes for 3 or 5 1/2 days skiing and boarding at Thredbo. 3 Day passes must commence Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and 5 Day passes commence Monday. 1/2 day ticket commences Sunday of arrival from 1pm.
Your stay must commence during the weeks 18th - 22nd July, 25th - 29th July and 22rd - 26th August.

Thredbo Starter Package

This product; formerly known as the First Timer Lift & Lesson & Equipment Hire Package, is perfect for new skiers and boarders and incorporates a First Timers Lift and Lesson pass with Recreational Skis, Poles and Boots OR Recreational Snowboard and Boots & Helmet hire.

• Includes a 2 hour First Timer group lesson each day.
  
• Available to children 7+ years only. (Group lessons are not available for children under 7).
  
• Children under 7 wishing to ski should be referred to a Thredboland program.
  
• Children wishing to have snowboarding lessons under the age of 7 will need to be booked into private lessons.
  
• An electronic credit card imprint OR cash deposit required upon collection of all equipment or Drivers Licence.
