Located between Jindabyne and Thredbo, The Alpine Way road winds through the valley and extends over the mountains reaching right down to the Victorian border and the Murray River.

The Alpine way is a great choice for those who would like to be a little closer to the mountain and still have the peace and quiet of the bushland. Many of the Alpine way properties offer fantastic views and scenic settings amongst Gum Trees

Activities

Whilst The Alpine Way is the gateway to Thredbo it must not be missed as a tourist destination. If your heading down from the mountain why not stop in at the Wild Brumby Schnapps Distillery or enjoy coffee and scones at Crackenback Cottage whilst the kids explore the maze. If your feeling like a day off the mountain then Thredbo Valley Horseriding offer trail rides for even the most unexperienced from 1hr to full day trecks.

Ski Tube

If your not confident about driving in snowy conditions or just like the ease of the service provided then the Ski Tube is an excellent option. Located at Bullocks Flat this train takes you through the mountain and drops you off at either Perisher Valley or Blue Cow. The Ski Tube is located outside of the national park so part of the train fee includes national park entry and parking is free for overnight and daily departures. Perisher does not offer overnight parking so if you are choosing to stay on snow then you are advised to park at Bullocks Flat and catch the Ski Tube to your accommodation.
